Folding carton favors — kraft and white SBS
The workhorse for favors is the folding carton. In white, it is SBS (solid bleached sulfate) board — clean, bright, and excellent for true-color logo printing. In kraft, it is the same carton family with a natural, recycled-looking face that signals handmade and eco without saying a word. Both fold flat and ship efficiently, which matters when you order from a factory overseas. A small SBS drawer or tuck carton for truffles, macarons, or a bar of soap costs little per unit and looks intentional. Drawer styles feel a notch more premium than a simple tuck, while tucks are lighter and cheaper to ship — pick by how the favor is opened, not just how it looks closed.
Rigid favor boxes for a keepsake
If the favor is itself a keepsake — a piece of jewelry, a porcelain ornament, a high-end candle — a rigid box earns its freight. A rigid favor box is built from greyboard (1,000–1,500 gsm) mounted with 157 gsm C2S art paper or a specialty paper, then wrapped and finished by hand. It ships assembled, so it feels substantial the moment a guest picks it up. The trade-off is weight and shipping cost, because unlike a folding carton it does not flat-ship. For a 60 mm porcelain ornament, a 90×90×60 mm rigid box with a soft-touch wrap reads as a gift, not packaging — worth the freight when the favor itself carries sentimental value.

Kraft and natural finishes
Kraft remains the safest signal of “thoughtful, not corporate.” A kraft folding carton with a single-color logo reads warm and artisan, and it pairs well with twine, a wax seal, or a handwritten tag. Personalization: print, foil, and the dieline
This is where a favor stops looking like a stock box. Offset printing puts your names, date, and monogram on the lid; a restrained foil stamp adds just enough shine for a formal wedding; an emboss gives texture without ink. The structure itself comes from a dieline — the cut-and-fold blueprint — and we provide that free, so you are not paying a separate tooling fee just to get the shape right. Send outlined fonts and 300 dpi art, and the result prints the way you previewed it. For brand-critical colors we can match a Pantone spot; for most runs process CMYK is plenty and keeps the per-unit price down.
Matching bags, wraps, and honest tradeoffs
For larger favors or a welcome bag, a kraft shopping bag with the same logo ties the set together. A few honest notes: lamination makes a box feel premium but can hurt recyclability, so if “eco” is part of the brief, ask for a mono-material kraft board and skip the gloss film. And if you need 50 boxes by next weekend, a local print-on-demand service (Arka, Noissue, or Packlane in the US) will beat our 7–12 working-day production window — we are the better fit when you want a specific structure, foil, or a true rigid box at a fair landed cost via DDP. Plan 4–6 weeks before the event for foil or rigid styles; plain kraft folding cartons can sometimes be turned around tighter, but do not gamble on peak wedding season.
