The brand and the problem
A California roaster built a loyal subscription base and wanted to launch a holiday gift set: two 12oz bags plus a branded mug, shipped in one box. The catch was timing. Holiday demand spikes in November, and they needed a finished, branded package by early October - but their prior supplier quoted a 6-week lead and a 1,000-unit minimum they could not risk on an untested gift SKU.
What we proposed
We split the job into a printed folding carton gift sleeve and a corrugated mailer, both produced in-house so lead time stayed short and the minimum stayed low:
| Component | Choice | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Gift sleeve | Folding carton, 350gsm SBS, matte lamination | Flat-packs to save freight, erects in seconds at fulfilment |
| Shipper | Corrugated mailer, E-flute | Protects bags and mug, ships as-is |
| CMYK plus soft-touch varnish | Premium feel, no foil upcharge | |
| Run size | 100 units first, reorder at 300 | Test the SKU, then scale on real demand |
Results
- First run of 100 shipped in 9 working days - in time for an October soft launch.
- Reorder of 300 placed mid-November with no artwork changes.
- Flat-packed sleeves cut storage and air-freight cost versus assembled boxes.
- The gift set became a repeat line, not a one-off promotion.
Could this work for your seasonal launch?
If you sell a giftable product, a folding carton sleeve plus a corrugated mailer is the lowest-risk way to go branded for the season. We print and finish in-house in Guangzhou at a 100-piece MOQ with a 7-12 working day lead time, and we supply a free dieline so your structure is approved before production.
