The device is a technology product with a charger and a manual, but it is worn on the body and bought as a personal object, so the pack is expected to present the watch face-up like a watch box rather than lay it flat like a gadget.
That dual identity dictates the structure. The dominant build is a small rigid lid-and-base or drawer box on 1.5-2mm greyboard, with a raised cushion or pillow that displays the watch face upward and holds the strap in a curve. A flat tray makes an expensive watch look like a component, which is the most frequent design mistake in this category.

- Moulded pulp instead of EVA foam or vac-formed PET is the single largest sustainability improvement available in electronics packaging, and it usually performs as well in drop tests.
- The greyboard core of a rigid electronics box is already 80-100% recycled fibre.
- Soy-based inks and water-based glue throughout; no solvent adhesives anywhere in the build.
- A paper pull-tab or a fibre-based ribbon replaces the plastic film tab used on most premium unboxing structures.
- Right-sizing the cavity to the device reduces both board and void fill, and lowers dimensional-weight freight at the same time.
- A folded paperboard pillow can replace the traditional foam-and-satin cushion and keeps the whole box recyclable, at a small cost in perceived softness.
