What Is a Suit Box?
A suit box is a large-format apparel pack carrying a tailored garment that must arrive without creases. That single requirement changes everything: unlike a tee, a suit cannot simply be folded small. The box has to be sized to a specific folding pattern, and the garment has to be interleaved so the fold lines fall where the fabric can recover.
Typical suit boxes run 400-600mm long, 300-400mm wide and 80-150mm deep - large enough that panel stiffness becomes a real engineering issue. At that span a light corrugated board bows in the middle under the weight of a wool two-piece, and a bowed box means a creased lapel.
The presentation dimension matters too. Suits sell at a price point where the box is part of the purchase, particularly in made-to-measure and bespoke tailoring where the garment is delivered rather than carried out of a shop. Define the folding pattern before the dieline. A suit folded in three needs a different box than one folded in half over a shoulder board, and the box cannot be corrected after the fold pattern is set.

- Corrugated board is the most widely recycled packaging material in the world, with recovery rates above 80-90% in most developed markets.
- The fluting medium is typically 70-100% recycled fibre, and the liner can be specified as recycled kraft rather than bleached white.
- Water-activated paper tape and paper-based void fill keep the whole parcel in a single recycling stream - one plastic tape strip is enough to break that.
- Right-sizing the box removes both board and void fill, and usually lowers dimensional-weight freight cost at the same time.
